Compton/Dancer in the RJ rated MonteLago real high, that why I went out there last trip...they were the same as machines at the PALMS from what I could see.
Remember the term 'Best' only pertains to the pay schedual...other than that, VP machines are all same, unlike a slot machines that can have a wide variety of 'personalities'

Greg-

Don't you think that the Casino MonteLago is really small as well?

We were there last week and we drove from there to the MGM Grand- what a culture shock that was!

Hey Garlinnh!...."culture shock?"...only in the sence that MonteLago is a local casino that is classy, clean, and inviting, without the burnt-out looking, non-friendly, focused only on that VP screen, zomby-like wandering local gambler hanging around.............HOWS THAT FOR OPIONATED!

I like MonteLago because it's small. Just like the PALMS and Masquerade Village at the RIO, all my gaming options are right there. I don't like having to wonder from one long side of the casino to another.

Trying a hotel out there might be a pleasant change for a night or two also. The lake, big black sky full of stars, lots of gaming and food. The room rates seem a bit highter (haven't stayed at any yet, Ritz or Hilton would be my choice)...but it's quiet and peaceful and just 20-30 min. from the Strip!...you can see it from there...

I liked the attitude of the staff at MonteLago. They don't have a lot of business yet, so they really are there for YOU...very helpful and friendly, great cocktail service and their restaurant is real good.

For new Club Uno members, you can still get 2000 points put on your card when you sign up on their website and some free-play stuff too!

I don't remember the driving directions....I was a patient passenger...Barbara always gets lost, misses exits, etc. When we get to Laughlin, I make the suggestion....."I think we should have turned back there..."

MonteLago can give you directions, it's easy if you're not a "Local".
OUT south on I-15 to 2?? which takes you left to Henderson. Just outside of that is the property sign to the lake, MontLago, etc.
Take a left, down past the golf coarse and man made water fall and you see it all coming up ahead of you down in the valley...30min drive.

A good suggestion for everyone...go mid day when there's no traffic. Coming back around 3:30,4,5, you get all that I-15 after work mess...and you must use I-15 to get back to town.

Get on I-215East; you can get there from I-15 So. (There's alot of construction going on-we noticed backup at Tropicana Ave. every day),or you can take 95/515.

The way we went that avoided alot of traffic was to take Tropicana East to the Boulder Highway-went South on the Boulder Highway to Lake Mead Dr.-go East on Lake Mead Drive about 8-10 miles I think-not sure, but it's not that far.

You'll see a sign for Lake Las Vegas-Hyatt,Ritz-Carlton,etc....can't miss it. :thumb:

When I mentioned culture shock,I meant the difference in size between the Casino MonteLago and the MGM Grand....there is a big difference in size.

Yeah, big difference...LARGE small, small LARGE, I like 'em both. At least if I get lost in the MonteLago, I can still see the front door...
