I love blackjack, and i play weird.
People think I am nuts how i do it. Now I am not a big timer like some people so that could be why.
I know I SHOULD hit on certain hands, but I don't. (like if i have 13) WHY? cause most of the time I bust so i don't hit. and FOR me it works good. But I always get people laughing at me like i am a moron, saying you should hit you should hit, they hit they go bust, and the deal hits 8/10 times when i do this, and he goes bust.
I was wondering what "odd" ways you all have of betting that seems to work........ Not Randy's betting on red i see that doesnt work for him at all LOL

Only "odd" way I bet, is betting on the Texas Rangers!
I guess that's just stupid, not odd!

My BJ strategy is pretty simple---kinda unique tho....
...im a low roller
...i dont count cards
...i dont always do Perfect Strategy on hit/stand/split stuff gobbily goop
Usually i'll bet $5 or $10 a hand...real conservative. If i work my buy-in up, then i might venture to $15/$20.....
Anyways, what i'll -- is in the end---i'll for a 'kill bet'. Here's an example...
buy in for $50----work it up to $650----i'll make one LAST bet for 1/2 of whatever i have in front of me, then leave no matter what. Sooooo, i'll either have $975 -or- $325 (still a nice profit). The 'kill bets' i venture into--well, believe it or not, i nail bout 3/4 of em (go figure). It's funny, cause i'll be betting $10 for 90 minutes over & over & over...then go for the biggie...dealer will raise an eyebrow (not to mention, perhaps, a floor manager). I just get a 'vision' in my mind & GO FOR IT (@ random).
That's me

I am trying to follow basic strategy but keep getting lost in the middle of things and then I just play gut feeling but I know this is wrong so I am practicing so that hopefully most of it will just be mechanical like. The other thing that I have been doing is trying to follow a progressive betting strategy.
Start out with 5 dollars if win at this level 3 times in a row move to 10 if win move to 15 etc. If I lose move back three levels. If I lose twice in a row take a walk. If at any time I lose half of my original stake I walk.
Unless I just have a really really sweet run I will not get that porsche i have always wanted but at least I try to curb my losses. One thing I noticed last time in the land of opportunity is people chasing their losses by double betting. Nothing wrong with that but I am a scaredy cat to do this.
I think I kind of understand how to count cards on a point system, but understanding how and actually doing it without getting noticed I cannot do. I cannot even do it playing online when I know no one is watching me

Basic strategy is my play. The cards don't talk to me so I never have a clue what the down card is???? We all know when quite a few tens and aces have crossed the table but I don't try to count cards.
Chasing losses will lead you to the nearest ATM!! Never a good play.

I agree with Jean.
WHAT THE HELL, DID I JUST SAY?
WOW!
LOL
Anyway, NEVER CHASE YOUR MONEY!
Only bet more, WHEN YOUR WINNING!
Bet less, when your losing.
I love the part, of walking, when you lose 1/2 of what yopu started with!
GREAT!

I wish I could turn $50 into $650 ;)
Yeah, I know how tempting it is to chase loses. But I always try to avoid that.
I play Perfect Basic Strategy-yes, I learned it for single deck and 2 deck hit soft 17, etc. before I discovered Simple Basic Strategy. I did spend 6 months learning card counting and thought I had it down pat but just couldn't do it in a casino environment. Now I "kinda" count while playing for fun. I'm a notorious lo-roller usually playing at $2-3 tables but always betting red cause it makes me feel like a "real hi-roller" :orange: . I budget $100/day or part thereof and quit if I lose that. If I win that day I'll add the winnings (or any leftover) to next day and so on; sometimes building a real bankroll. I utilize a betting progression and have a win-stop system. I don't always win but seldom lose and always have a great time. I do use my gambling budget for snacks, some food, tips and other minor things while putting "large" expenditures on plastic. Works for me.

I sit down at a table... Then I ask if anyone knows any good jokes. If no one does, I'll leave after a few hands.
If the mood is light, and everyone is having fun, telling jokes, I stay. That is until I loose what little bit I started with. Or until I win my preset amount.
But either way, I'm there to have FUN. Hate really serious tables... life is too short.
Either way, I play pretty basic strategy. So far, so good.
