'Lord' cast still dancing in the dark at Venetian

"Lord of the Dance" cast members are walking around on their tiptoes
offstage these days.

The 42 Irish dancers are anxiously awaiting a decision by The
Venetian management about the future of the immensely popular
production by Michael Flatley, former lead dancer of "Riverdance,"
itself an immensely popular production.

"Dance" made its Las Vegas debut at New York-New York in July 1998,
almost two years to the day after its world premiere at the Point
Theatre in Dublin.

Four years later, in July 2002, "Dance" was given the boot from the
MGM MIRAGE property to make room for Cirque du Soleil's sexuality-
themed "Zumanity," which debuted last month to decidedly mixed
response.

Heard decent things about the show, I guess it can't last in Vegas forever. Oh wait, Wayne Netwon still performs :drink:

I saw it years ago at NYNY and it was good...never felt the earge to see it a second time as I do with many others. It might have fun it's course. The Venetian's show room is not made for the show...the dancers are real cramped. The other versions around the States...River, Spirit, Lord of the Dance can still be seen.
The only version I'd like to see, is one I caught on TV a while back. Michalel Flatley did a GRAND version...huge stage...three story scafolding in the back ground filled with dancers, FIRE, lots of special lighting...don't know what it was called or where it was, but very cool!

I have never seen the show live. I have heard from many that have seen the different shows that the Michalel Flatley was outstanding and the best they had seen.

Can't beat WAYNE!!!!!!!! LOL
